Kirsta HerderKirsta Herder, AuD, a licensed Audiologist, has practiced in Bryan-College Station since 2002. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the American Speech and Language Association (ASHA). She holds her Texas license in Audiology, which includes a license to dispense hearing aids.

Dr. Herder graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Houston, her Masters of Science in Audiology from Arizona State University and her and Doctorate in Audiology from AT Still University. She has interned at many facilities including Phoenix Indian Medical Center, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and Phoenix Day School for the Deaf. Dr. Herder also worked at Texas Children’s Hospital to help establish the Texas Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program for all well-born, premature and NICU infants when Texas joined the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program in 2000. Dr. Herder has traveled all over the United States and Europe to continue her education in advancing hearing technologies, hearing prevention strategies, ototoxicity monitoring and tinnitus therapies.

A lifelong musician, her interests also include custom noise protection for musicians as well as anyone interested in preserving their hearing, regardless of the application. One of her missions is to heighten awareness of our increasingly noisy society and the toll it takes on our hearing health. Dr. Herder has a strong belief it is never too late to start wearing hearing protection, even if a hearing loss already exists. In high-school she developed a loud noise in her ears, known as tinnitus. Tinnitus plagues millions of people across the world and is most often due to loud noise exposure. Dr. Herder’s methodology is not only to empower people of all ages to hear better, but emphasize the importance of preventing the number one cause of hearing loss…noise.
