The Brazos Valley Physician Assistant Association (BVPAA) elected Lorin Catalena as its new President.
Lorin Catalena, MS, PA-C, joined the Texas ENT & Allergy team in July 2005. Prior to joining Texas ENT &
Allergy, Mrs. Catalena worked for 4 years in pediatrics.  She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M
University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences.  Mrs. Catalena received her Master of
Science at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. 

The BVPAA provides a source of networking among Physician Assistants (PAs) in the Brazos Valley as
well as continuing medical education in the form of conferences and regular meetings.  The BVPAA collaborates
with the Future Aggie Physician Assistants, FAPA, to offer Brazos Valley PA Rotations to prospective PA students
with a means for PA observations in the range of medical fields in which PAs practice.

Other officers elected include: 
President Elect/Vice President : Joe Hlavin of Texas Brain & Spine Institute 
Secretary/Treasurer: Christi Dodd with Brazos Physicians Group
Membership and Student Relations Chairman: Kim Eastepp of the Burleson St. Joseph Clinic
Director at Large: Shawn Jensen of St. Joseph-Normangee Family Medicine Clinic
Director at Large: Kayce Kieschnick of Central Texas Digestive Disease

The Officers and Directors are members of Texas Association of Physician Assistants and the American Academy
of Physician Assistants.

About Brazos Valley Physician Assistant Association
The Brazos Valley Physician Assistant Association (BVPAA), a non-profit organization, represents 65 Physician
Assistants (PAs) in the Brazos Valley.  Physician Assistants are licensed medical professionals who practice in
all areas of medicine under the delegated authority of supervising physicians.  A Physician Assistant’s scope of
practice includes a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
