Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). We are members of the Texas
Hospital Association, the American Hospital Association, and the
Texas Organization of Rural and Community Hospitals (TORCH).

Health and Human Services (Medicare) and participates in the
Medicaid program.
Owned by the Bellville Hospital District,
Bellville General Hospital is located on 4.197 acres of land just 4
blocks from the historic courthouse square of downtown Bellville.
Located at 44 N. Cummings Street, the hospital and
adjoining professional building offer patients "small-town
friendliness" coupled with a staff of dedicated caregivers,
including multi-specialty physicians, nurses, therapists,
dietitians, technicians and support staff.

Current Results Now Posted!
Thank you
for the great scores!
Since May,
2006, the federal government has looked at
healthcare with the same eye towards customer
service as the mom and pop grocery store down
the street. Only in the case of the
federal government, they tied reimbursement
compensation for Medicare payments to the
'voluntary' solicitation of customer feedback
from hospitals nationwide. The process has
been tweaked and refined and the first year of results
are finally available on-line. Needless to
say, many a hospital administrator has been
sweating this first release of results.
Across the board, BGH rated high scores from
those patients that returned the
questionnaire/survey. We're proud to
say that 90% of patients that used BGH from
October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007 rated
us either a 9 or a 10, on a scale of 1-10,
with 10 being the BEST! AND, 93%
of those replying to the questionnaire said our
Doctors "always" communicated well.
84% of our patients surveyed said that their
pain was 'always' well controlled; 85% said they
'always' received help as soon as they wanted.
90% of the patients said our nurses 'always'
communicated well.
That word
"ALWAYS" is key to the results.
Check your dictionary as "always"
means just that...at all times; on all
occasions; continuously; forever.
Just like
our slogan says..."We'll Take Good Care of
You." Maybe we ought to add another
word....Always.

BGH turns 80
in 08
We had a
great time at our 80th anniversary celebration
on December 6. What better place to celebrate
than the rustic old Welcome Hall just outside
the city limits of Industry in Austin County.
With plenty of ambience that included thousands
of twinkle lights, garland, holly, a lovely REAL
Christmas tree, lantern lights leading up to the
front steps, a visit from Santa himself and
plenty of good cheer, we danced, we laughed, we
indulged in great food and drink and we toasted
our past and our future. With Dr. Winston B.
Neely and Dr. Robert A. "Bob" Neely
and their spouses there to celebrate with us, we
paid tribute to their father, the late Dr. J. A.
Neely, who with Dr. H. E. Roensch, established
Bellville Hospital 8 decades ago. What a
wonderful party! What a memory for all of us who
braved the cold night to come to the country and
celebrate this milestone. Pledges and checks
continue to come in so this festive holiday
fundraiser is another successful event for BGH
that tied yesteryear with tomorrow. We
eagerly look forward to the next 10 years. Thank
you all for supporting our mission and vision.
A lot has
changed and a lot has stayed the same. You see,
we feel you can have state-of-the-art
equipment and still provide that down-home
tender, loving care that your grandmother
believed in. Don't believe us?
Ask anyone who's been a patient at BGH and you
will hear the same response time and time
again...."they treated me like
family."
